Our Story
Ulnxiy started because most wooden playpens on the shelf in 2024 shipped with painted rails, single-latch doors, and connectors no buyer ever saw a fold-test number for. Parents researching baby gear catch those gaps — chemical-finish concerns, hinge crack reports at month six, the fear that a teething nine-month-old will gnaw a flake of paint off the top rail — and walk away skeptical of the whole wooden category.
Our founders are first-time parents themselves. They built the early prototype in a small Vermont workshop after rejecting six different wooden pens that all failed the same fingernail test along the rail. The Ulnxiy frame uses 100% pure New Zealand pine — sanded smooth, no painted finish, no stain to chip. The hinge connectors cycle to 10,000 fold operations under manufacturer durability testing before any panel ships. Inside the side walls, ASTM-certified built-in toy panels turn each enclosure into both a containment zone and an activity center.
The line covers two footprints. The 56 × 56 × 24 inch compact (8 panels) fits between a sofa and a TV stand in apartments under 1,200 square feet. The 84 × 56 × 24 inch large (10 panels) stretches along an open-plan sofa wall and gives a 25-pound toddler corner room to pull up.
